Several times a year we bring in artists and potters that are known as the best in their fields. We limit these workshops to 20 people or less to give everyone the best opportunity to learn from the masters.

Aug 16, 2008: Glase Fusing with Merlene Walker

Glass Fusing is the joining of glass together by heat. It is one of the most versatile ways of working with glass today. Join us in this fun filled, hands on, information packed, exciting class. No experience necessary.
You will make two pendants and pair of earrings or refrigerator magnets, Learn the basics of glass cutting, placement and firing while receiving extensive information on the technical aspects of kilnwork, safety, and studio set up. Tools, glass and firing are provided!
10am till 4pm - $145 includes glass and an assortment of tools you'll need to make your own jewlery.

Aug 17, 2008 Precious Metal Clay with Merlene Walker

Precious Metal Clay is a wonderful new form of fine silver and gold which can be manipulated like clay, but after firing is solid silver or gold. True alchemy!
Participants will explore the many methods of imprinting textures on Precious Metal Clay as well as learn to carve, fire and finish it. Working with simple tools, we will experiment with pinched, rolled and hollow forms and finishing techniques, plus fire the PMC to final pieces.
